1996 Atlanta Olympics wih he winner Spain

WChs are the second major event in RG world after the Olympics. And as the latter are much fewer, let's look at the Olympic gold winner groups through the years.

1996: Here are the two routines that brought to Spain the gold Olympic medal in Atlanta, at the first ever Olympic RG competition. The head of the Spanish RG at that time, Emilia Boneva from Bulgaria played a crucial role for this success.

Gold: Spain

Silver: Bulgaria

Bronze: Russia

It is also interesting to see which groups had won medals at the world championships (WChs) before 1996 Olympics:

Year:_ 1993 '94 '95 '96

Gold:__ N/a RU BG BG

Silver:_ N/a SP SP SP

Bronze: N/a BG BY BY
